Paylocity has acquired the low-code integrations platform Cloudsnap, according to a recent announcement from the HR and payroll software company.
The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Paylocity, which is based in Schaumburg, Illinois, said in a statement that Cloudsnap’s technology will enable them to “deliver modern integrations and seamless data sharing between critical systems more efficiently and effectively while helping to unify and automate business processes across HR, Finance, Benefits, and other systems.”
Cloudsnap’s workflow automation tech
Cloudsnap’s software enables users to set up workflows for automating manual processes that involve multiple applications, including the integration of legacy on-premises solutions with cloud-based apps. For example, a company may want to enable their time tracking solution to seamlessly share data on employees’ hours worked with the company’s payroll system.
With its acquisition of the Austin, Texas-based Cloudsnap, Paylocity signals the importance of facilitating stronger API integrations both between HR applications and with other business systems, such as finance software.
Cloudsnap CEO Matt Bradley said in a statement that the company was “thrilled to join Paylocity at a time when the HR function is so instrumental for a company’s success.”
“Legacy HCM vendors have not designed their systems to support end-to-end processes and data flows across third-party systems, yet HR touches virtually every part of an organization,” said Steve Beauchamp, CEO of Paylocity, in a press release.
“This acquisition will accelerate the speed and flexibility with which organizations can connect data and insights from Paylocity to other mission-critical business applications, so we can continue to provide the most relevant and modern platform for our clients.”
Paylocity is a Leader in several HR categories on G2, including Core HR Software and Payroll Software.
HR integrations pose a challenge
Setting up and maintaining HR system integrations is still a significant challenge for many businesses, especially as tech stacks have grown.
For example, many users of payroll software reported that products they used were falling short on setup, according to G2 data. Users gave products in the Payroll Software category the lowest score on average for Ease of Setup, out of six core questions G2 asks of every reviewer.
HR teams that can implement automated workflows within different HR applications will be able to cut down on time-consuming manual processes. The time HR professionals save from reducing manual work can then be used in other ways, such as updating their talent management strategies or exploring new recruiting channels.
Prior to its acquisition, Cloudsnap already facilitated integrations between Paylocity and other platforms, such as payroll software or expense management software. Cloudsnap also had connectors with other major HR software sellers, including ADP, UKG, Workday, and BambooHR.
