Last month, we issued our Spring 2022 Grid Reports, as many of you know – having either been recognized or seeing vendors promote their rankings. We pride ourselves on data integrity and transparency at G2. And it’s in this nature of transparency that we’re sharing an error that has impacted some of those report rankings.
In addition to measuring Customer Satisfaction based on peer reviews on G2.com, Market Presence also plays a role in vendor scoring. Designed to measure a solution’s market share, vendor size, and influence in the solution category, Market Presence looks at things like number of employees, reviews, web presence, social presence, and growth.
Unfortunately, an incorrect URL was listed for Salesforce, negatively impacting its Market Presence score. Because of the closeness among vendor scores in some categories, the rankings in 15 reports were impacted. Notably, this correction caused Salesforce to move back into the #1 spot in the Grid® Report for CRM | Spring 2022.
We sincerely apologize for this error and take it very seriously. Here’s what we’ve done to remedy this as best we can:
- Notified all vendors directly whose Spring 2022 report rankings have been impacted
- Refreshed reports for the following impacted software categories:
We’re also taking steps to prevent this type of issue from happening in the future. Specifically, we’re improving our internal QA process related to the monthly cycle updates of vendor data to ensure all Market Presence inputs are adequately checked going forward.
Trust is a word that can get thrown around, but we don’t take it lightly. We’ve always worked hard to earn your trust. It’s why we’ve instilled community guidelines to ensure authentic, unbiased, verified reviews. It’s why Authenticity is one of our four PEAK Values at G2. This one incorrect URL may seem like a small lapse to some, but we recognize the impact it has. We remain committed to fostering data integrity and a trusting environment for all. And you have our word that we will work even harder to earn and maintain your trust. It literally means the world to us.
